Astrology & Tarot

I have been blogging about Astrology and Tarot on Instagram for about three years now. I have learned so much on my spiritual journey. I’ve learned almost everything under the moon about astrology, and I know there is still more to learn.

I feel like I’m at an intermediate level when it comes to astrology and I’m at an advanced level when it comes to tarot.

I strongly believe these are tools that can connect us to our spiritual selves and to whatever deity or god you believe in.

I don’t practice tarot in a traditional way. I only do a couple rituals with my cards, but I look at tarot as the tool, not as a spiritual being. For me, The Universe, is who I’m seeking answers from.

Some people believe it’s a God, some people believe it’s a Spirit, some people believe it could be an evil entity. Some people believe they are communicating to their ancestors.

Whomever it is, all that matters is the message you are receiving from them. I don’t believe there is any evil energy attached to the cards unless you are purposely attaching that kind of energy to it.

I do believe you can give yourself a tarot reading, and I encourage you to try, but it can be rather exhausting trying to apply it to your life. It’s sometimes easier to hear it from a different individual.

I notice with me, I overthink my readings I give myself. So, I usually only pull up to three cards for myself. Unless I meditate before doing so.

I will however pull cards for myself before I give readings to other people, so I know the message I’m giving is meant for the other person, and not for me.

The Universe is direct. There is no fluff. She uses tarot to display her message to us and she’s a massive B word. Tarot is not a nice fluffy advisor, it’s a direct and blunt message that tells you what is up and is one S short from calling you stupid.

If you need the truth and straight up advice on what to do, just pull out your cards and the Universe will tell you. Or she won’t, and when she doesn’t give you a direct message, she is waiting for you to figure this one out by yourself.

If you are seriously interested in tarot, but you are scared to reach out to a reader, or you don’t know where to find a legit reader who’s not trying to scam you out of money, then I encourage you to buy your own deck and start giving yourself readings.

They can be very insightful and give you great messages that truly can help you at the end of your day, or the beginning of your morning. You can buy a beginner deck here, but there are so many decks out there that are beautiful.

It’s on my bucket list to make my own tarot deck. If you, for whatever reason, believe they are demon cards, and will not purchase them for yourself, or the whole idea freaks you out too much, or maybe you’re just not into it, or maybe you genuinely don’t have the time. Then by all means, I am a tarot reader and I give great readings, or so I’m told. If you want to check out my readings click here.

If you want to know the type of decks I have, I have a few, but the current deck I use often is this one, and I’m in love with it, it’s so pretty!

I plan to update my Tarot & Astrology blog from time to time, so if you’re at all interested in those topics, then head over there and have a gander. I plan to post about topics having to do with the more spiritual or mystical stuff over there.

Giving tarot readings and astrology readings is more like a hobby of mine, so I only do it on the side. I like to keep it low key and chill. I also listen to my mind and my body, so I will sometimes take breaks from giving readings, which I will announce on my Instagram page and the website as well.

Astrology is far different from tarot; our destiny is set in the stars. I have a harder time with astrology, because if you know anything about astronomy, then you will know that there are actually two different times of a year. Meaning that there’s actually two different types of astrology.

The first one, and probably the one we all are more familiar with, unless you are from India, is Western Astrology. This is also called Tropical Astrology and basically tropical astrology is based off of the original star map from the Babylonian Era.

The second type of astrology is called Sidereal Astrology, or some people call it Real Time Astrology. Vedic Astrology or Eastern Astrology actually follows this time of year. Basically, this type of astrology, actually follows real time stars, or now-a-day stars, not a fixed star map from 600 B.C. (These are estimates and info off the top of my head).

If you are a science and history nerd like me, you might go on a Google search and get lost for about twenty or thirty minutes researching the different types of astrology and the different time of years on Earth. Because that’s what I did, and then I whined about it for another ten minutes to my husband who looked at me like I had lost it.

It’s like being an ant and learning about the existence of humans! It will blow your mind, and it may hurt your brain a little bit trying to put the two together. It just can’t happen, I tried, and it doesn’t make sense at all.

In my mind, I felt like it was a no brainer to follow real time stars. But oh, man, was I wrong.

Just to make this clearer or give you an idea of what this all means, I’ll use myself as an example, in Western Astrology my natal chart looks like this:

This is the Tropical Chart of the day I was born. This is the chart I identify with. What you are looking at on this chart is my Sun Sign, the top row, says I’m a Cancer at 29 degrees in the twelfth house. I know my chart isn’t going to show you much of a difference in this comparison I’m trying to make, but bear with me.

I got this tropical chart from here.

This is the Sidereal Chart of the same exact day and time I was born. But if you notice, on this chart, it says my Sun Sign on the top row is in Cancer, but it says I’m at 5 degrees. That a 24 degree difference.

I got this sidereal chart from here.

I know, you are saying to me, “Speak English woman!” But what this is saying is that the star map from the Babylonian Era has grown 24 degrees larger compared to our current star map in the sky that we are able to see right now.

The Universe is growing!

How does this impact astrology? Or you? Basically, let’s say you were born July 3rd. In Tropical Astrology, you identify as a Cancer, but in Sidereal astrology you’re a Gemini!

This is where your brain might start hurting if it hasn’t already. If you still don’t get it. Then maybe looking up the constellation Ophiuchus might help you?

You might ask me, what type of astrology I “side” with or agree with? For me, I agree with the identity and behavioral characteristics of Tropical Astrology, and I agree with predicting the future with Sidereal Astrology. I believe both are correct.

I also believe that since both exist, then that’s proof that they both are correct. It’s just different views of our Universe. She is like an onion, she’s not linear, or 2D, she’s like 3D and 4D and 5D. I think that both ideas are correct.

I give my astrology readings based off of Western Astrology. But it’s pretty nifty to know about the two.

It’s all science and fascinating! The More You Know!
